I'm busy with........

Selling Bras (and panties, of course)!!!!

Usually 3 weeks before the Lunar New Year, we have to help out at our stores or counters and this year is no exception. Every year, the days differ. Like last year, I had to work for 2 whole weeks at the Bedok shop including the weekends. For this year, it’s just the weekends - Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from the 9th of Jan onwards right to the eve. So my last weekend was at Metro Paragon and I was quite bored as there weren’t many customers during the day time. Not as busy as Bedok’s heartland crowd where everyone is dying for your attention!!!

I’m so not looking forward for the next 2 weekends. *SIGH*

Well, well….. Just have to get it over and done with! Meanwhile, I should indulge myself with lots of retail therapy! Hahaha! Shop shop shop!!!!

We were invited to Dulcy’s love nest for her house-warming party on the 1st Saturday of 2009! Here are some pics!

Corine and Simon were the 1st to arrive!
Surprising Wenn was quite early too!!! Hahahaha!

Dulcy's Ikea Xmas tree!
The top looked slightly bare though....

Our gift to them!
I had spent the entire morning planning and making this "house" envelope!
I like the result!

Dulcy suggested we should all mark our cups so we will not replace them over and over again.... Good way to save some cups!
Nana even went to the extend to mark the wine glasses with tapes and name written over it.
Hahahaha.....
Guess whose hand is this!
As I was trying to take a picture of all the food, Shiying reached out for her drink at the same time! Hahhaha!

My beloved PC Girls!
Happy Bellies!

The Ikea cake tray is very pretty lor!
Prefect for holding pretty cuppies like these!
I am so wanting one for myself too!
Cuppies from Coffee Bean!
Dunno what was Simon talking about....
He was like so excited!

Vintage cabinet!
This 40 year-old cabinet was from Ka Chong's house before they moved it to their love nest! Very nice! But I told Dulcy that the iron in the middle is quite an eye-sore lah!
Huhuhu....

Dulcy wants us to be considerate to each other.
Heehee....

Very effective and cost-effient way to keep your stuff!
Dulcy kept some of her clothes and other stuffs in these wine cases!
Her hubs, Ka Chong, works in a wine place so he got these for free!
Good right!!!!

I took a proper pic as keepsake!

Inside of the card!

Cupcakes time!

I pretend to pick my nose when I saw Boo's still snapping away!
Hahaha!
Nana, taking a pic of her cupcake with her iphone.

Did I mention that she just got engaged?!?! Huhuhu....

The boys were left to entertain themselves!
wahaha!
Boo as usual, cannot take his hands of his DS!

Sunday with Boo

Asked Boo to pose and he did this.
Irritating lei!

I think he was mimicking me!
Act cute! Hahahaha!!!

The new outdoor tables are nice but it can be quite a nuisance if things started dropping thru the gaps! The gaps where quite big lah, I can imagine bits of cakes dropping thru the gaps! Wahahah!

Me enjoying the classique chocolat cake and lime tea!
Yummy!!!

Boo didn't feel very well so I almost finish the whole slice of cake to myself!

No wonder now I so fat!

The lime tea was goooood! I ordered it because it was good for colds and I wanted to force Boo to drink it!

Boo's calling the restaurant to check if we could leave the cake in the fridge.

We had like 2 hours to kill before our appointment!

The cake couldn't be out for more than 45 mins!

This is where we'll be celebrating Boo's mum's birthday later!
Hokkien food!

The weather was just nice for photos!

Wah! So many aircons!

It is so not environmentally-friendly lor!
1 shophouse need so many split systems can you imagine how many there are in the whole area?! Oh my goodness!

Boo as Mr Fei Yu Qing....
We walked down this mini park at Ann Siang Hill.

Felt a little wierd cos the end leads the the back of the shophouses on Amoy St.

We were strolling at the perimeters of Far East Square and we spotted a museum.
The Fuk Tak Chi museum is free for everyone to go see!

I like this big model of a junk.

Hope my 2009 will be as soon sailing as the message!

Rediffusion box.
My mum used to have 1 at my old place and she would listen to it everyday.
Boo's no stranger to this, he used to do recordings for Rediffusion from a very young age.
We were saying that maybe I have heard him before when we were young.

huhu....

"huh"?!

We were walking along China Square and saw Don's Pie and Boo was hungry, so we went across the street in search of some nice in-between snacks.
It was like 30 mins away from meeting his family for dinner and he finally cannot tahan his hunger pangs and bought a pie to eat!

"Wahhhhhhh........"
Boo's exaggerated expression again! Hahaha!

Boo's really to attack!!!

Look at the thick mashed potato covering the pie....
It was really very delicious but rather oily.
At $5.40 for a pie, I think it's a little too pricey for that size.

But it was very delicious lah.
Do try!

Another Year came....

Happy New Year everyone!
There seems to be alot of plans for 2009. I really hoped it will be a good year for me. Looking back, last year has been smooth-sailing for me in terms of work, relationships and health despite a really, really bad start. However, the problems haven't been solved. Yah. My brother is still jobless, bumming and living off me.
I have to plan my escape route.
Run.
As fast as I can.
Holding my mum close to me.
Sigh........
Nevertheless! I will keep my spirits up! It's just the start of the year!
There are still 363 days to go!
Here's wishing all of you
A GREAT year ahead!
All the best in whatever you do!

Dreams do come true.....

......For Boey and Shan!
It was a wedding that I have been waiting forever like Wymen and LayC!
I am so excited to be part of the wedding of Boey and Shan, happening at the Raffles Hotel last Saturday, on the 6th of December, 2008!

Here's the full story!

Was making this ang bao the morning before I went for my manicure!
I bought special cardstock from Cosmo Cricket and also dotted swiss cardstock from Bazzill Basics. Added a personal touch with their names printed in a tag which I cut with scalloped scissors! Thought Boey can appreciate this kind of humour so I decided to use this "Do Not Disturb!" tag! And I added a little bit of royalty by stamping a crown and 2 keys (to represent them) with gold stamps!

"Big wishes in small packages"
My Personal touch to the ang bao!

♣ Arrival at the Hotel ♣

Boo ran across the street to meet me for a few seconds!
I made a special angbao for Derric and Jaroline too! Coincidentally, the wedding was at Carlton Hotel which was very near to Raffles Hotel!

Celine and I cam-whored in the toilet before we went for our duties as receptionist!

I think my dress matches the interior of the restroom!
Oh by the way, he has colour codes for his wedding - black, cream, gold and pink.

So I had to wear this super repeated dress again! Hahaha...

Love this picture.

I can shoot quite straight ah! hehehe....

My manicured nails with champagne gold nail polish completed with black tips!
My idea was to match my dress colours!

Paid $31 for it! (>_<)

Once outside, we went to the reception table to get ready to receive the 1st batch of guest who were invited for their Solemnisation. Then in between, it started to drizzle and we had to shift in and out for 3 times. The rain plan was to shift entirely indoors for the ceremony but we all knew Boey and Shan really wanted to have it outside. There was 1 point that everyone - guests, hotel staffs and helpers were all waiting for his orders whether we should follow the rain plan or the stick to the normal plan.

And he was standing in the rain.

So poor thing...

Then Austin came and laugh at me for being a "suay chui(mouth)" for cursing him that it will be raining when we met for meeting the week before. Then he say he also waiting for Boey to make the decision as there were no DRIZZLE plan. Hahaha...

BUT I DIDN'T CURSE HIM lei!!!!
I was just asking or preparing him in case it really does start drizzling halfway mah!!!

:(

♣ The Reception ♣

Shan's lovely colleagues helping her to do up a display of her photos with Boey!
So nice of them!

One of their favourite photo printed on canvas displayed next to the reception table but it got shifted elsewhere after the 3rd moving.

Celine and I were on Boey's side helping him to direct all his guests.

Boey came and gave us a warm welcome!
Here he is looking so sauve!
The "always-crappy" BKC is now all grown up!

I think we haven't been photographed together since the graduation show way back in 2000.

I was much slimmer then! Shucks! Hahaha...
♣ The Solemnisation ♣
Boey, waiting in anticipation and Stan, The best man.
It was very heart-warming to see this scene! Stan and Boey were like twins a few years back. They were so close til they had gotten identical tattoos on their arms. But I think now they kinda regret it! Hahaha..

Here comes the bride!!!
Shan's looking gorgeous walking down the aisle with her dad. I think she had forgotten her hand bouquet again! Hahaha... I heard later that she kept forgetting it the whole day! Hahaha...

I love this pic!
Alot of feel! I love long trains. Perfect for photos like these....

Going through the ceremony with Pastor Kenny.
Boey couldn't stop grinning the whole time!
I kept telling Celine, "look at his hamster grin!" Hahaha...

But it was very sweet lah.... (^-^)

After the ceremony, we resumed our duties!
It was getting dark when the guests started arriving!
Celine and I had a hard time with the list cos it was kinda confusing and the fonts are way too small! Hahaha... I think we are getting old....
Celine grabs attention with her dangerously low cut dress! huhu...

The lovely couple came to the reception table to take pictures with us!
Katherine and Shan's long time friend, Jamie helps out at her side!

Bird cages as ang bao box!

How innovative!
See the amount of angbaos it can hold!

♣ The cake-cutting session began! ♣

Look at the beautiful REAL cake!!!!

The top 2 tiers are real and made by Raffles Hotel's pastry chef!
Boey told me that initially they really wanna turn down his order because they are not confident to do the exact design that he wanted but in the end, it turned out to be exactly what they wanted! So Pretty lor the cake!!!

So happy!!!

Have to thank LayC for snapping these lovely pictures when I was on duty!
Great display from Shan's colleagues!
It really bring out the entire Royalty feel of the wedding!

Closer look!
There are photos of their trips all over the world!
So lucky!
After the couple cut the cake and the guest were ushered into the 2 different ballrooms - The East India room for the relatives and the Bar & Billard room for the friends and colleagues!
The whole fountain area were quickly emptied and 4 of us became so lonely suddenly! Hahaha...
The funny thing is that we didn't know what to do next. Like should we continue to wait? Or should we pack up and go? I was making alot of noise lah cos I was super duper hungry!!! So by 8 I told the girls that let's pack up and go! But none of them seems to like wanna leave cos there wasn't any instructions given to us to leave by a certain time! So we had a small discussion and we packed up and reception area and took the bird cages full of ang baos to the suite!

♣ In The Suite ♣
The room had a very strong colonial feel to it!
And I got so excited when I saw Shan's babies!

So cute!!!
Their "babies" were all dressed up!
Boey's mum sew these tiny outfits for their kids! So sweet of her!
They were lying around so I thought I should put them nicely before I snap a lovely pic of them!
They are really very detailed people lor!
The dining table was lined with rose petals and a gift from Raffles Hotel.
So sweet of them.
Great service ya?

Shan came in to change into her evening gown!
I didn't realise that my face appeared in the little mirror at the back until I saw Boey's comment on this photo in Facebook!

I assisted Mr B to change into another set of suit as well and these are his cuff links for the white suit that he was wearing.
Even the cuff links must match!
"Are these from Paul Smith???", I asked on Facebook.
"nope...they are from paula smiten...huhuhu", he replied.
So typical Boey.
Me and lovely Shan!
So gorgeous she look.... Boey is a lucky man!
Oops!
When I told Shan I wanted to snap a pic of the beautiful top tier of the wedding cake, she accidentally broke the tiara! It was very, very fragile!

♣ Bar & Billard Room ♣
Finally, I get to eat!!! Hahaha... by then I wasn't really hungry anymore.
Celine and I went to join LayC and Bert at our table but we found that all of the boys had gone to the big sofa area to hang out! Even Wymen had forsaked his new wife of 1 month to be with his old classmates! Hahahaha...
So 4 of us just chatted and ate. We felt that it was more like a Xmas dinner then a wedding because our tables were located at the patio of the Bar & Billard Room. So a bit isolated lah but it was fine cos we were entertaining ourselves! Haha...
Boey and Shan came to greet their guest at the Bar & Billard room and pop another bottle of champagne!
That's Perng fliming them in front~!

I helped myself to the delectable desserts!
The wedding cake was so delicious too!

Towards the end of the dinner, we suddenly heard Stan shouting out from the room telling us that Boey is going to sing! And we immediately ran in to join in the fun!

He was singing "Sunshine" by Gabrielle.
He told the guests there that he had slept at 5am the previous night cos he had spent all the time to rush out the slideshow of them.

SO SWEET!

The TP girls!
With us is Katherine! She is looking so pretty too!

Stan drank so much that he is sooooo RED!!!!
I had to take a pic of him being wasted! Hahaha...

So typical Stan.
Heehee....

I got bored and went around the fountain to pic roses off the floor!
They are still fresh so kinda wasted so I picked a few of them!

Bigggg Antique chandeliers!

The reception girlies and the lovely couple again!
♣ Back to The Suite ♣

Nicely set up by the hotel staffs.
A private dinner for the 2 of them who didn't managed to try the food at the Bar & Billard room that night.
A sweet gift from Boey and Shan!!!
I told them they shouldn't have spent that kind of money to get pressies for us....
The wedding is already so expensive!
They are so sweet to all the brothers and sisters and also me and Celine.
They hand-picked all the gifts lor!

A warm thank you card from them.

♣ Let the Counting began! ♣

Boey and Shan asked if Celine and I wanna stay a bit later to help them count the angbaos and we gladly accepted the request! We were more then happy to help!
So we started by picking out the special ones!
All the interesting, non-conventional Ang baos!
Mine is inside too!

Celine took over the recording from Shan because she was more familiar with the list!
A bit confusing lah the list and the fonts were so small! I gave up at the reception too! Hahaha!
Here's Celine, looking really serious!

Counting and sorting out!

That's ALOT of $50 bills!!!!
So shiok!!!
We ♥ moneeeeee~!☻
Who doesn't?!?!? Hahaha....
Celine's taking forever to count the $2 notes while me and Boey finish stacking the $50 notes!
She was like so distracted! Hahahaha...
Slow lah!
I ♥ my angbao!
It matches the "Do not disturb" sign!
♣ Going Home ♣
The back of the Royal Carriage!

When I reached earlier the day, I already wanted to take a pic while it was brighter but Austin told us to hurry up since it was getting kinda late! So I didn't managed to take! Damns!
So before I left I have to take a picture!!!!
It's so darn cute lor!!!! The most happening wedding car ever!!!
Us and Royal carriage!
♣ The Crown rocks!!!♣
The other cars PALES in comparision!!!

Wahahaha....
The bigger cars with the "Oh-so-normal" flower decorations weren't even asked to park on the 1st lot of the Hotel! The other couples must be really jealous!!! Hahahaha!!!
The Raffles Hotel's looking majestic and festive with all the christmas decorations!
Very, very beautiful!

Would love to have my wedding there too. Actually it was one of the top few choices on my list of wedding venues!
Perfume from the Lovely couple!!!

I am really happy and honoured to be part of Boey and Shan's wedding. I have know both of them for more than 11 years now.
I am truly happy for Boey for finding a perfect wife for him since he so deserved a kind-hearted girl like Shan!
~♥ I wish them Eternal Bliss! ♥~
