Merry Christmas?

This year's Christmas is different from most years. Although for the past few years, I have not been feeling the festive mood but this year is the worse.... Something happened at home which I don't think I'm comfortable sharing online. What's happening has killed whatever tiny little festive mood I had left.
And I realised that this year's SMS greetings have dropped tremendously. From a hundred over to a mere 12 SMSes this year. It seems everyone's really not in the mood. Or is it only my friends? Orchard Road is still as crowded as ever. Christmas lights are slightly more elaborate this year (I feel lights reflect how well/bad or economy is). Alot of people seems to be in a joyous mood. Not for me. Not for Boo (was sulking the whole night on Christmas eve - right until I surprised him with a pressie).

Nevertheless, I still spent quality time searching high and low for pressies for my Sistas. This year is a meaningful year as it was also our 10th anniversary and also 2 "喜事" in the group. Ice is going to be a mama and LayC is getting married next year. Therefore, my pressies for them is extra special. It might not be what they want but I hope they will find it useful!

The pressies!

I still can't reveal what the pressies are because we are celebrating tonight. We are going to have our annual Christmas dinner at House. As always, we always discuss months before where to have our dinner but we will only come to a conclusion at the last minute cos no one wanna confirm or decide! Haha... House's environment will be good for us to eat, chat and exchange our pressies!
Talking about pressies... I think I spent more then 12 hours wrapping and decorating all the Sistas's pressies! I bought pearlised white paper from Fancy Papers and did a simple design on Illustrator. This year theme for my wrapping is Black & White. Went around getting stuff to decorate.... Here's the list.

Designing the tags!

All wrapped up - w/o the tags yet!

Making the tags halfway.

Wrapper - A3 pearlised paper from Fancy Papers,

printed with monogram and swirly patterns.

Ribbons - wholesale ribbon shop at Arab street.

Boxes - different sizes from Concourse.

Tags - Baubles-shaped tags made from felt from Art Friend
at Bras Brasah.

In total I think I spent more then 12 hours wrapping and decorating the pressies - all hoping my sistas will love it!

It's Dee's birthday!

I made this envelope to put our $$$ pressie for Delia!
At SCH we usually give $$$ because we want the birthday girl to buy something she really like and want!
The back of the envelope!
Maybe I should start selling handmade stuff soon!
We bought her a slice of White chocolate & walnut cake from Cedele Depot.

Surprise!!!
We all tried to surprise her while she is doing her work!

SweeYee presenting the cakey!

Picture time!

Make a wish!!!

Blow out the candle now!

Hope all your wishes come true! Enjoy yourself, Dee!!!

Christmas is coming...

And I haven't done even 50% of my shopping yet! Chams liao! I thought I had a good start when I bought Ice's and LayC's pressie in early November. But I didn't continue from there! My goodness! The date is drawing near and in fact I only have slightly more then 1 week left! Die liao..... My sistas and I did already send each other our wish lists and like every year, Ice's pressie is the hardest! Ice has everything. Her everything is good stuff somemore so it's really quite hard to get stuff for her.

Our budget has been up from $20 to $25 this year. We go with the flow since everything/ everyone has increase their selling price also. $20 really can't get much stuff lor.... Anyway I had intentions to spend more than the budget. Try to meet all my darling sistas most desired items!
Here's a look at my wish list!

Ey's Wish list!
  1. "FLUFF" makeup pouch - I particular like the Mermaid and Dollies print ones.
  2. I was hoping this coin pouch can fit my camera.....
  3. I also love this bunny!!! I think I look like it! Hahaha..
  4. Singlet from Women'Secret. (Don't really want it now though...)
  5. Cute Mouse pad like My Melody or Sanrio ones.

I really want these!!!!

I Love 星光帮 so much after following their competition on cable. Before that I only like 楊宗緯 but now not only I like him even much more but I like most of them because they seemed to be very real people and I get touched by their singing. My mama also enjoyed catching the show with me. We always drop tears when we see them all start to cry. Hahahaha....

[ I even went all the way to IMM last Saturday to catch a glimpse of 星光四少!!!! They are so cute!!! But I am not mad fans lah.. didn't go super early to chop place to stand. Me and Layc just stood and miao them from far far away...hahahaha]

Christmas is not very far away and looks like this weekend I'm going to spend lots of time shopping and planning my wrapping for the pressies also! Will post pics soon.

Happy Shopping.

Parcel of goodies!

Last week, a parcel from my darling sister arrived! And in the parcel, holds a pretty black gift box from Sephora! Yay!!! Essly sent me Benefit cosmetics!!!!

Pretty black and white signature box from Sephora.

Looks what's inside!!! My Benefit cosmetics and lots of other goodies!!!

See what I made Essly buy me! huhu... so paiseh.. so many things!
Black fake lash glue!!! Works better then the clear ones!

Freebies! Perfume and make-up samplers!

My darling sis, if you are reading this, THANK YOU lots! I love you!
Benefit cosmetics has very good concealers and bases. It's finally avaliable in Tangs since middle of this year but it's so much cheaper if you buy from the States. So for those who wanna try 1st, can go get them at Tangs. Once you like it, can buy from their website itself or from Sephora and have Vpost USA send it to you.

My title bar!

Is it nice?!?!?

I created this yesterday! Initially wanted to design a header with carton versions of me and Boo but like not very inspired. It's been a long time since I draw cartoons and stuff so.......

I went to find pictures of me and him. Went thru our photos taken in the States but we like don't have alot of pics together lei! If not then it's not very suitable to crop it. Then I came across this pic taken at the Hollywood Boulevard - our feet with Kermit the frog's star!

I DI away Kermit's name and added my blog title and change the colour abit... and Viola! My nice title bar!!! Here's the original pic.....

My shoe matches Kermit.

It's Nana's birthday!

It's Christina's birthday last sunday and we organised a "get-together cum birthday" celebration for her a day before!

After much discussion, LayC suggested that maybe we should try out Cedele's food. She had previously went there with her close friend, Titania and they quite like the food there. She said the pastas are nice and it's also been a long time since we ate at Cedele too!

And so we went to Cedele at Wheelock Place.
The girls trying to enjoy the cold, hard bread.
Me and the birthday girl! Why my face like so big?!

Nana had mushroom alfredo pasta.

LayC had spicy crab pasta. It's very delicious and spicy!!!

Dulcy and I shared a sirloin beef chedder burger.

I wasn't particularly hungry cos my mama cooked bee hoon for lunch and I had to eat some before I leave the house if not like so poor thing, cook already then I don't eat. Dulcy was saving room for desserts! The cakes at Cedele are quite nice. Wenny only had soup. She also had to eat before she leave her boyfriend place too.

After lunch, we chatted for a while before we go order a slice of cake or two to share. Nana liked the deco and look of the Mango Almond cake so we ordered that and a Balsamic Strawberry cake.

The waiter took the cake here, with the candles lit and after he delivered the cake, he just stood there and waited for us to sing the birthday song and he wanna sing with us! But we just look at him awkwardly!!! Then we faster dismissed him to go do other things like get us some forks!!! hahaha... so wierd like that!

I like the "Happy Birthday" sign.

Nana and her cake!

Wish nana will stay pretty year after year and get married soon!

Complimentary pancakes!

When we foot the bill, the chef (a bit ah beng) came to our table with a plate of Heart-shaped pancakes! He say... It's complimentary (rather nervously) and left! We were surprised and didn't know how to react! Hahaha.... Then i began to disturb LayC! The other time when she was there with Titania, she also received heart-shaped pancakes on the house! Must be her 魅力 at work! Hahaha.... So we had free pancakes!

Thanks ar, LayC! huhuhuhu...........

Nana get to make another wish then!

A little too "chao ta" right?

The chef tried to hide the 2 chao ta heart shaped at the back while flipping it to the other side as well... I did my part to distribute the pancakes by cutting the girls. We ate til we can't eat no more and left after spending more then 2 hours there!

We weren't too please with the staffs' service there. Didn't bother to refill our water, didn't served our coffee and tea in time, didn't gave us forks/plates for the cakes, took expectionally long time to take an extra fork... etc etc! Despite the free pancakes, we weren't too pleased! Besides, the pancakes was probably the chef's ulterior motive for getting LayC's phone number!!! Huhuhu....

My long awaited Break!

Finally...... I can breathe.........

October has been the busiest month ever.
My time was spent doing presentation stuff - doing Powerpoint, planning display and buying props, preparing for my training (in chinese!!!), setting up the training room, take down, set again and take down again.

So Tired!

So now, can breathe. Before I start doing new stuffs again.

October is also the month I heard 2 good news from my 2 good friends! Can't tell yet! Must wait til the time is ripe! huhuhu....

And here's...............

*My Post from a million years ago!!!*

It's been a while since Boo and I checked out Vivo together! We had no where to go so I have decided to go Vivo to "look see look see"(famous quote from LayC)!!!

As we were working towards the back, I notice something new next to Corduroy Cafe. The colours of the interior is so attractive and I kept asking Boo what was that as we approached...

It's a Candy Store!!!

It's actually by Corduroy cafe called "Corduroy Candy". Inside the shop, they sell all kinds of imported candies - mainly american types. They also have a cotton candy machine at the front door! I was very attracted to their huge cookie that was adorned by lovely rainbow candies and also little choco crunchies! The chocolate slabs have the same toppings too and they are avaliable at $5/100g. The staff told me that the cookies and chocolates are made fresh daily by their chef and they will have live demos on weekends on how to make the chocolate and cookies.

So interesting right!!! I went around the store and they sell mostly liquorice which I don't really like. So I bought the chocolate! It's so pretty! And as I was paying I saw the prettily-coloured macaroons! So I bought that too!

See! So delicious looking!
I took a broken piece and it's Very rich!

The round-round lil things are crunchy balls.

Look at the colour of the macaroons!

It's almond flavoured.

Go buy, go try! I'm sure all chocolate lovers will like!!!! Yummy yum!

More posts later! Need to edit the photos 1st!

Our Anniversary...

27th of September 2004 - the 1st time I chat with Boo on msn. This is how we got to know each other. We only got together on 21st September 2005, close to a year after we first know each other. So this year we celebrate our 2nd year of being together and 3rd year of knowing each other. Since my sis was around on our anniversary date so we have to postpone our dinner til 27th.

We didn't do much, it's not our practise to make it a big deal when it comes to anniversaries. Maybe the 1st year but after that, all our V-days, Xmas and any other celebrations are very simple affairs. I'm just glad that he is able to spend time with me despite his super crazy work schedule.

I took him to Tuckshop at Tanjong Pagar Road. He saw the Steak sandwich I had when I last went during Faith's farewell and he is very keen on trying it. So we braved the rain and walked there from Shenton Way. We both skid and nearly fell along the way but walked through the "La sup" bars stretch at Tras Street. Reached there and good thing that it wasn't too crowded. Order 2 sandwiches, tea for me and coffee for him.

The Steak Sandwich is really very nice but like shrank a bit from the last time I was there.

The BBQ chicken sandwich is very yummilicious!

We chatted a little, shared both sandwiches and left not too long later. The crowd was building inside the small place so we thought it's time to go for a little walk. We just head to Amara Hotel to use the restrooms and head straight to the MRT station. Went back to Tampines, head to NTUC to buy some munchies and went home to watch TV with my mama.

Simple. Sweet. Happy.

Super-Duper Long 7-in-1 Post!

I've been extremely busy! My sis was in town and we had big shopping and eating plans! Terence and Samantha's wedding was on thursday and I just had a photoshoot on wednesday too! Work is all piled up to my head and I have no time to clear it!!! My sis left on sunday that week and it seems like time just flew past! It has been 1 whole week since she left!

Here's a look at how I spent my busiest week of 2007!

Monday

Took the afternoon off and went shopping with mum and Essly. We went to Vivocity cos Essly hasn't been there and mum would love to shop in the big M&S. Mum bought a very cool pair of Pumas and she picked it herself!

Speed Cat Croco! I like it too!

Sis bought mum 2 tops from M&S and a dress from Pull & Bear for me(she also got the same one for herself!) Went to Tangs and she bought pressies for boyfriend, Jordan and her best friend, Ana. Then we went to Chinatown to look for Buddha statues. My sister collects Buddhas and Guan Yins. She wanna find something unique. Mum's pretty tired from all the walking and her ankles got all swollen. We end the day eating at Maxwell market. Went home and kor brought a dozen of his favourite donuts from Munchy's! He claimed that it's the best donuts he has ever eaten (I didnt blame him cos obviously he hasn't had KRISPY KREME yet!)

Since 1991??? Serious bo???

Guess who bite the donut??!!

Tuesday

Had to work full day today so only met Essly after work at Orchard. We did the big Zara, Topshop and a little bit of Taka. Took her to Liang Seah Street for dinner ar LaiLai's. She likes the Taiwanese beef noodles and the bubble tea!

Wednesday

Photoshoot at MOMOs at Chip Bee Gardens! This is for PC's early Spring campaign! I invited my sis along to the shoot too so I can introduce Simon and Corine to her and see if my sis can intro them some lobang in LA or not.

Momo is always full of inspiration for us! I want them to design my house next time!!!

Hardworking Simon!

My artistic shot! Chio bo?! Paiseh, cannot review too much of the campaign!

Keith Byrant touching up Natalia's face after lunchie!

Lazy was there too! He was super excited lor! 1st time I see him run around so much!

My CLEAR pic of Dulcy!

See how Dulcy takes my photo now......(-_- )

It's a wrap!

It was shopping at Marina Square for Essly and me again! I need to find a dress for Terence's wedding the next day but after searching forever I still can't find anything suitable! Darn! I have been putting so much weight that I can't seem to fit anything! Time to lose weight le~!!!

Essly had started to feel sick. She is too heaty from eating all the local food and whole load of junk food she stocked up at home! All the bak-gwas, pineapple tarts, tau sah piahs and mooncakes! She also got bitten by the flu bug! Chams!

Thursday

Terence and Samantha's wedding at Intercontinental Hotel. Second time this year I have attended a wedding at the hotel. The 1st one was Louisa's wedding in June.

We were quite late and the wedding was about to start. The theme was quite Terence lah... It's black and red, a little Goth. Deco includes roses on branches and the tables and seats are all covered in black fabric and red roses as decorations. The wedding favours matches the theme too - red photoframe with black stitches and red bath roses.

Red Bath Roses - No Bath tub, LayC say put in toilet bowl lor! Good idea!

LayC is bored!

We sat with people we didn't know so LayC, Boo and me just entertained ourselves. There were 2 ladies on the table we didnt really like... whole night they have this sibeh sian look on their faces. When we sat down not too long, one of the ladies also just arrived with her partner and then the 2 ladies started talking in hokkien and throwing looks and then finally the face very black one suddenly asked Layc whether we can change seats with the couple... although she tried to appear very apologetic but the face still like buay song like that. Wierd.

Then the best thing happened. The 4th or 5th dish came - mushroom with bo cai or something then Boo was helping me take and I was trying to get his sleeve out of the way just in case he stain it and I push his wine glass and red wine poured into the dish! I apologised by saying - "Sorry, Everyone!" Then the Ah fat sitting opposite me diao me and give me a very forced and weak smile and they started to comment that what vegetarians sure cannot eat liao cos got wine and some stupid remarks lah! I very pissed leh! I also not purposely one! puiiiiii them!!!!

The auntie waitress also not helping lor. She is sibeh chor-lor one lor! Kept spilling tea into my plate and onto Layc. She wasn't too pleased.

Bored, So we start to amuse ourselves!

Boo wanna get out!

Friday

Took the day off despite not finishing my work. No choice, have to bring my sis around for a bit since she spent so much money and time to fly back. Went to collect her new passport then went to Raffles City for lunch and shopping. Although I have a huge craving for Soup Spoon's mushroom stroganoff but I have decided to give in to my sister to go for Din Tai Fung instead. She gave me a face of disgust when I pointed to Soup Spoon. Well, I can understand lah... coming from an angmoh place, ang moh soup like these definately won't interest her a single bit! haha...

Essly's all ready to diggggg in!!!!

The "Zha Jiang Mian" looks so delicious, right???

This Prawn pancake is surprising delicious too! The prawn is very "springy".QQ de!

Pretty "Macro" shot of the "Xiao Long Bao"!

After lunch it was more shopping at Raffles City then we head to Orchard after that. I had an extremely bad headache that day and I didn't really have the mood to shop and besides.... I was super broke lor... can see but cannot buy... So Sian...

LayC was supposed to meet us straight after work but as usual, she "tu" in the office til 7 lor! So Bert came to meet us 1st. We went to Food Republic at Wisma looking for seats. It was a friday lor, and everytime looking for seats at FR is a nitemare. We were on the verge of giving up after 15 mins and a group of people left and we finally had a seat. Essly was so surprised at the amount of people there eating. We had light meals cos we are going to..................

Canele for Cakes!!!!

Told my sis that I'll bring her to eat nice cakes so I brought her to Canele at Robertson Quay. Though the service SUCKS but I think we can close 1 eye because of their delicious Cakes (so Pang, you heng your cake is delicious that's why still have business).

2 cakes only cos we wanna have crepe!

The 1st time we went we had tried the Nougatine crepe which was Fantabulous! So this time we wanted to try Chic Choc so we did! It was super delicious!!!!

Essly enjoying the crepe.

LayC and her favourite Strawberry Shortcake. She always have a thing for Strawberry cakes!

My sister treat all of us for the tea, crepe and cakes! So nice of her to treat my sistas too! Layc was fighting with her for the bill cos Layc wanted to treat her for showing us around when we both went to LA in 2004 for work. But my sis won so they want to treat my sis back for drinks at Clarke Quay. And I have forgotten to collect and pass Layc the mooncakes which she brought from Boo(Thanks for the support!!!). Off we go to Clarke Quay and we end up at.........

Indochine

Bert's sian cos there was something very bright behind us....

It's this! Clarke Quay's directory! Extra bright I tell U!

We were also not spared from underneath us. Indochine's pamplet put into good use!

We sat at this side of Indochine.

Our drinks.... I forgot what Bert was having.....

Saturday

Took Essly to Lao Zhao Pai at Central again cos I had to deliver a Pandan chiffon cake made by me mum(she is famous for her pandan cake!) to Boo's mum. This year I didn't buy her any mooncakes cos she had already bought a big box from Boo to give it to me and it didn't make sense if I buy her the same box again so I had ask my mum to make something for my future in-laws.

Mum still insist on beating the egg-whites and sugar by hand.

Our portable oven, circa 1970s; older then Me!!!

Cake is so big that it needs to be lifted higher still!

Went to Central to deliver the cake and met Boo's mum and aunt there too so we had a chat with them until it was time for us to head to Chinatown cos Essly's still looking for a unique buddha statue to buy home. She is also looking for something special for Jordan, her boyfriend. After walking along Smith Street and Sago Street, she had gotten herself a small round smiling buddha statue and a medium size buddha statue. She was done "buddha-shopping". I couldn't resist Tong Heng's egg tarts so i ran across the street to get some for myself and Boo. We got mum a "5-ren" mooncake too. After that I brought Essly to Ann Siang Hill for a walk to let her have a feel of one of the Atas place I was telling her about. She liked the very old shophouses with modern and interesting shop concept.

Essly loves Ann Siang Hill!

I like this! Pretty vintage tiles!

Me trying to take artistic pic!

We went back to Central to look for Boo who has specially take time off work to go eat durians and beef kway teow at Geylang with us! We met Ronn at the durian place. Opened 5 durians and Essly and I ate the most cos Boo can't eat because of his tonsilities record and Ronn said he was heaty! Damn! After which we walked to Lor 9 for the famous beef kway teow.

The kway teow's standard had dropped and the prices had gone up quite a fair bit. Disappointed.

Haven't been to Geylang for quite some time and I had notice a big change. It's messier now with lots of China prositutes walking around in skimpy outfits, massive groups of middle-aged men gathered at kopitiam to sing KTV and women selling themselves even on normal lorongs! Sibeh Haps, I'm telling you.................

Sunday

Sent Essly off at 2 plus along with mummy, Ronn and Richmond. So sad to see her leave but hope she will come again or I might go soon!

*phew*

Finally finished this super duper long post!!! Took me sooooo long to edit the pics and upload and align it properly! Tired!
